Marcelo Zelasco

Managing Director, MINEX Technology

Marcelo was born and raised in Lima, studied in Massachusetts and is now based between Geneva and Barcelona. His work sits where mining, technology and supply chains meet: mining technology, digital transformation and supply chain traceability.

He has led technology and SAP initiatives for mining and corporate groups including Minsur, Marcobre, Glencore, Loomis, Minera Las Bambas and ICL Iberia, among others, and SAP projects involving companies such as L'Oréal, Julius Bär and BNP Paribas, among others. He has also worked with Minespider on traceability initiatives in South America.

Across those projects he kept seeing the same gap. Smaller producers have the minerals but not the documents, traceability or reach to be trusted by international buyers, while buyers struggle to find reliable smaller suppliers. MINEX is built to close that gap.
