1. Who we are
MINEX Technology (“MINEX”, “we”, “us”) operates a digital platform and website that helps mineral producers and buyers discover one another. For the personal data described in this policy, MINEX acts as the data controller, represented by its Managing Director, Marcelo Zelasco. You can contact us at hello@minex.technology or the Managing Director at marcelo.zelasco@minex.technology.
MINEX is a technology platform. It is not a mining company, trader, broker or exchange, and it is not a party to transactions between participants.
2. Scope and status of services
This policy covers the public website, the marketplace preview, the Buyer and Producer demonstrations, and the account interface. Some services described here (production accounts, live listings and enquiry handling) are in development. Where this policy refers to production services, it applies once they are enabled; until then the demonstrations operate with illustrative data and browser local storage only.
3. Personal data we process
| Category | Examples | When |
|---|---|---|
| Account data | Name, business email, company, country, role (buyer or producer), password credentials | When you register for a production account |
| Profile data | Company profile, contact details, minerals of interest, operation description | When you complete your profile |
| Marketplace content | Listings you publish; enquiries, quotation requests and messages you send | When you use production marketplace features |
| Verification documents | Company registration, tax certificate, mining title or permit, origin declaration, identity document of an authorised representative, assay reports | When you choose to verify your company |
| Contact data | Name, email, company, message | When you email us or use the contact form (it opens your email app) |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps (server and security logs) | When you visit the website; logged by our hosting and service providers |
| Device storage | Cookie choice, demo accounts and demo data | See the Cookie Policy |
We do not intentionally collect special category data, and you should not include it in profiles, listings or messages.
4. Demonstration mode
While production authentication is not enabled, accounts you create on the demo login and registration pages are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and are never sent to MINEX. The same applies to demo marketplace data such as shortlists, listings and enquiries created in the Buyer and Producer demos. You can delete this data at any time using the in app “Delete demo data” and “Reset demo data” controls or by clearing your browser storage. Demo mode is not secure authentication and should not be used with real credentials.
5. How and why we use data
- Provide the platform: create and secure your account, display your profile and listings, route enquiries and messages between participants (performance of a contract or steps at your request).
- Verify participants: review the documents you submit and show a verification status on your profile and listings (contract; legitimate interests; legal obligations such as sanctions screening where applicable).
- Communicate with you: verification and password reset emails, service notices, replies to your enquiries (contract; legitimate interests).
- Keep the platform safe: prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents; enforce our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy (legitimate interests; legal obligations).
- Improve the service: understand which features work, fix errors and plan development, using aggregated or minimised data (legitimate interests). We do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
- Comply with law: respond to lawful requests and meet legal and regulatory obligations.
Where required by law, we rely on your consent, and you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
6. Who sees your data
Other participants. Information you choose to publish in a profile or listing is visible to other participants of the platform. An enquiry you send is visible to the producer it is addressed to (and vice versa for replies). MINEX does not verify this information; please share only what you intend the other party to see.
Service providers. We use providers to host the website, provide authentication and database services, and deliver email. They process data on our instructions and under appropriate agreements. When production authentication is enabled, this includes the authentication and database provider configured by MINEX.
Legal and corporate. We may disclose data where required by law or to protect rights and safety, and in connection with a merger, financing or sale of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal data.
7. International transfers
Mineral supply chains are global and our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
8. How long we keep data
- Account and profile data: for as long as your account is active, then for a limited period to handle disputes and legal obligations.
- Enquiries and messages: for as long as needed to operate the conversation and meet legal requirements; participants may keep their own copies.
- Server and security logs: for a short period appropriate to security needs.
- Contact emails: for as long as needed to handle your request and keep a record of the correspondence.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@minex.technology. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, described in more detail on our Security page. No online service is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials confidential.
11. Children
The platform is intended for business users. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version. If changes are material we will take reasonable steps to notify registered users.
